The Demons of Hell.. are they in your church?
I was reading the Bible the other day and stopped short at the following verses and thought about the warning here to today’s people, especially the people of faith.
2 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 2 Peter 2:1-2 NKJV
It brought to mind another one on the same subject that went a step further and called these teachings the doctrines of demons.
4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 1 Tim 4:1-2 NKJV
It seems to me that Lucifer, who is obviously a pretty smart devil, isn’t going to come in this age of enlightenment and tell people of faith that they must kill and eat their children. He isn’t going to appear as a 14 foot frog. He will come as an angel of light
Paul worried that the Church was open to deceptive spirits when he said,
3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Cor 11:3
In verse 14, he said it was no wonder, for Satan transforms himself into ‘an angel of light.’ That his ministers would appear as ministers of righteousness, but false apostles and deceitful workers.
Paul was not talking about Satan worshippers. He was talking about false teachers creeping into the flock.
Well, back to my thoughts about doctrines of demons. I think that they would be ones that the demons could pass off on foolish people within the faith who are weak on doctrine. Things the demons could get away with but would be every bit as demon inspired as killing and eating your children.
The Devil would be crafty and he would go after the heart of God’s truth. He would humanize God and deify man. He would minimize sin. He would raise up a new, popular and charismatic prophet even though God said the time of the prophets ended with Christ.
Salvation would only be through this prophet and his church. People would be awed by his brilliance and believe this new prophet and he would lead them to this human god who was really a man. And the prophet would tell the people that they, too could become gods, even like this new god of many gods.
This new prophet would take away from the Word of God. Call its authenticity and translation flawed and give the people new scripture, and revelations superseding the Bible.
He would bring the people into a spiritual bondage through blood oath, secret rituals and bind them in undergarments that bear talismanic markings placed there on the navel, breast and knee to keep those blood oaths ever present over their spirits.
As I pondered these things, these doctrines of demons that we were warned were coming, I realized that I was describing the dear Mormon people I know.
Paul described the Mormon Church, its leadership and the one who holds power over them when he said:
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Cor 11:13-15 NKJV
Dear Mormon People, Flee. Flee as though the demons of hell were at your heels… Because they are!
